#SanMarinoGP: GOOD STARTING POSITION TO SCORE POINTS ON SUNDAY

#DA77: GOOD STARTING POSITION TO SCORE POINTS ON SUNDAY

Although Dominique Aegerter suffered a harmless fall during qualifying, his mood with regard to Sunday’s race in Misano is still positive.

After overnight rain showers hitting Rimini’s Adriatic coastline, the track dried out quickly this morning. At time of FP3 just before noon, the sun also had displaced the last remaining clouds and due to the beautiful summer weather, temperatures increased significantly in the afternoon.

For Dominique Aegerter and his German Kiefer Racing Team, their time attack got underway as planned. During the final stages, however, the experienced Swiss rider lost the front one time when entering turn eight. The unavoidable fall cost him a better starting position than P14 on the grid for Sunday’s round13 in Italy.

The race gets started as usual at 12:20 pm.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), Grid position 14th - 1´37.954 (3/17):

"Too bad because of the fall towards the end of the session. Luckily, I escaped unhurt, as well as the bike was only minimally damaged. But it still annoys me because I felt it would have gone one or two tenths faster. But apparently it was too much, I was probably over the limit. P14 on the starting grid is still not a disaster, although we had actually speculated with a position in row three or four. Nevertheless, the goal for Sunday remains unchanged, namely, that we want to make it into the points. In any case, we want to show a good race and offer the many Swiss fans a great show. It would be that much great for the whole team and me, if we we’ll manage it to finish in the top ten again after a while. The race is long here, so why not because we're not that far off."
