#DutchGP: IMPROVEMENTS DURING TRICKY ASSEN QUALIFYING

IMPROVEMENTS DURING TRICKY ASSEN QUALIFYING

Dominique Aegerter succeeded to qualify for a fourth row start at the historic TT Circuit.

A change in terms of weather conditions brought rain to the north of the Netherlands last night so, Saturday morning’s FP3 took place under a full wet track at Assen’s legendary TT Circuit. But, after several intermittent rain showers, the track started to dry out during the all-important qualifying session.

For Swiss Dominique Aegerter, the day ended with mixed feelings. On the one hand, he was pleased to qualify better than for the last race while he would have hoped for more on the other hand.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), Grid position 11th – 1´39.157 (21/22):

"This morning in the wet, things didn’t go so bad. P17 was not a great thing though, the small gap with just two seconds off the pace did equal all. But most important, I got a better feeling lap by lap. This afternoon’s qualifying was once again typical for Assen, starting with a half-wet to a damp track and finally an almost dry track. However, apart from that, we had the same problems with which we started into the weekend. We have a lot of grip on the rear but we can’t use is in a proper way to take advantage from this."

"The rear is pushing the front too much. Therefore, we lose valuable time, particularly in the fast changes of direction after the back straight. Although starting from eleventh is a bit better than in the last races, I’m a little disappointed. I feel that we could get out a lot more but we can’t do it at the moment on track. I have always pushed to the limits and gave everything. But somehow, things slow us even if it’s clearly to that I can go faster. So, we’re working hard with the Suter guys in order to prepare a real rocket for tomorrow’s race."
