#DutchGP: CHANGEABLE WEATHER PLAYS ITS ROLE

CHANGEABLE WEATHER PLAYS ITS ROLE

Swiss Dominique Aegerter wasn’t quite happy with twelfth position in a tricky Assen race.

Constantly changing weather was also on race day an unpleasant companionship in Assen. After a violent downpour in the morning, warm up session took place on a completely wet track, although it dried out again till the race starts at 2:30 pm this afternoon. Dominique Aegerter left the line well from his eleventh spot on the grid und he also was able to make up ground quickly by passing two other riders. Till halfway point of the race, it seemed that the 26-year-old Swiss rider will bring home another solid top ten finish. But, obviously, his competitors had more reserves for the final stages.

The championship moves over now to the Sachsenring for the German round in just one week where Aegerter and his team Kiefer Racing are excited to race in front of their home crowd.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), 12th (Championship position 8th, 50 points):

"It was once again a difficult race for us. Till halfway point of the race, I was able to keep up well, although I was at the limit all the time. When it started to rain at this point, I also risked a lot in order to stay and keep my position. But, as the rain stopped again I couldn’t go faster than the others as they were half a second faster from this point onwards. However, I was able to keep a constant rhythm, but I couldn’t go faster than 1´39.1."

"Therefore, I was an easy prey for the riders following me. In the last lap, I got passed by Marcel (Schrötter). It was a tough but fair move. But this is racing and I wouldn’t have done it in another way. Nevertheless, it’s annoying that I lost one position more in the last lap."
