#AragonGP: WEEKEND CONCLUDES WITH SUCCESSFUL TEST

ARGÓN WEEKEND CONCLUDES WITH SUCCESSFUL TEST

On Monday after the race, Dominique Aegerter and his team Kiefer Racing stayed for an important test in Spain.

Before the series goes overseas next month, Dominique Aegerter and Kiefer Racing did not want to lose this opportunity in order to go well prepared into the final stage of this year’s championship. Under good conditions, the MotorLand Aragón circuit was shared with some other Moto2™ teams last Monday. The day’s schedule saw mainly to further improve the team’s Suter MMX2 whilst the Swiss manufacturer brought some new and further development parts for the Moto2 machine especially for this test to Spain. Dominique Aegerter from the canton of Bern was pleased with the results achieved after a hard-working day.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), (Championship position 9th, 92 points):

"It was a very productive day for us because we are able to take a lot of positive things with us and we also could sort out many negative things. This was very important with regard to the upcoming races. In addition, Suter has brought many new parts in terms of geometry, the cooling system and the aerodynamic package for this test. We certainly can use some of this in the last four races this year, whilst other things will be included in the package for 2018. Regarding the lap times, however, I was not faster than during qualifying last Saturday, but our main focus was to improve the feeling with the bike and our consistency. In both cases, we succeeded and beyond that, Dunlop has brought a new front tyre. For me, this has advantages under braking and in corner entry but otherwise the performance was pretty much the same. After four days riding at this track, I’m glad that this weekend is finally past. Aragón is always very tough for me but this test also was successful in this respect. At this track, it is a huge challenge to ride smoothly and flowing and that the lap times will come. I do not often succeed in this because my riding style is more like stop-and-go and here in Aragón almost every second corner is fast and flowing and braking is under lean angle already. So, if you act too aggressive in this regard, you are getting very easily cramped which naturally has a negative effect on corner speed. But there are many similar corners on other tracks which is why it was a welcome practice in terms of riding today. Many thanks to my team and to Suter who both have done a great job during this test, everything has worked smoothly. The most important thing is that we really have found some very positive things."
