#JapanGP: BACK IN JAPAN

BACK IN JAPAN

For Kiefer Racing's 27-year-old Suter rider, this weekends’ round 15 marks a long-waited return to Japan.

In addition to his predilection for the tricky Motegi track, Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter is a glowing fan of Japan. Therefore, it is little wonder that he is particularly fond of the 2017 edition of the Grand Prix of Japan because he reluctantly had to sit out the October flyaways in the last two years.

The Grand Prix of Japan is the 15th stop of this year’s championship calendar and at the same time the meanwhile traditional opener for the annual oversea trip to Asia and Australia in October. The Twin Ring Motegi, the name comes from the two tracks with an oval and a 4.8 kilometer track, is about 2 hours’ drive from Tokyo, located in a beautiful hilly landscape. Starting time is scheduled for Sunday as usual at 12:20 pm local time. But attention, the time difference is minus seven hours.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing, Suter MMX2), Championship position 9th (92 points):

"After I did not race at the flyaways the last two years, I’m really looking forward to being back in Japan. In addition, Motegi is always a very special race for me. I can count on the support of many Japanese fans and I like this track a lot. So, I’m looking forward to ride here again. Beyond that, Suter has brought a few new parts that have proved their worth during the Aragón test last time and it will be used during a race weekend from now on. I think, the conditions for a good weekend are there, even if the weather should change after some beautiful days since our arrival. We definitely want to race consistently in the top ten and try to attack a top five result on Sunday. In any case, we have set this goal ourselves for this weekend."
