#DA77: START INTO THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON NOT AS DESIRED

Dominique Aegerter lost already in turn one after the start lots of ground when colliding with another rider.

After scorching conditions on the previous days, the weather appeared slightly more bearable on Sunday. At the time of the race, refreshing winds also caused slightly changed conditions. After a strong qualifying performance delivered by Swiss Moto2™ star Dominique Aegerter, the German team had high hopes for a successful start into the second part of the championship.

The championship moves now to Austria where the series will continue in one week in Spielberg in the middle of Styria’s magnificent landscape.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kiefer Racing), 17th - Championship position 17th (24 points):

"Of course, it is frustrating when you start from ninth spot on the starting grid after a great qualifying and at the end to leave this place without points. The situation had changed slightly, but regardless of that, it was a difficult race for me from the start to the end. At the start, there was also a bit of bad luck when I touched Baldassarri. However, this incident had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome because my race pace was not what we expected. Therefore, I just wasn’t able to keep stay up."

"But that wasn’t the reason why we did not make it into the points today because in corner entry, I’m still struggling a lot. In this area, I’m far too early at the limits. At least it was positive that we’ve finished only ten seconds behind the winner. This means that we were losing only half a second per lap so, our pace compared to the top was a bit more consistent. But the top 20 in this class are that close to each other so, after 19 laps and despite only 10 seconds off the race winners time, you’re arrive outside the points. That’s very disappointing."
