#DA77: MISANO WEEKEND BEGIN BARELY OUTSIDE THE TOP TEN

On day one at this weekend’s round 13 of the season, Dominique Aegerter was able to take the momentum from the last race weekend two weeks ago in England.

Contrary to the forecasts for Friday and despite threatening dark clouds, the weather remained dry all day long, very much to the delight of all teams and riders because mixed conditions after a dry FP1 this morning would have had a terrible impact at all. Dominique Aegerter and his Kiefer Racing team, however, were able to work off completely the daily schedule for Friday’s first free practice sessions in Italy.

The 27-year-old Swiss rider also underlined his preferences for the Misano World Circuit again, by posting competitive lap times right from the beginning of practice. During this afternoon’s session, Aegerter managed to improve on his lap time from FP1 by seven tenth to finish Friday in P11 of the combined practice times.

"Overall, it was a positive start to the weekend as we were able to take the momentum from Silverstone we displayed there during all free practice sessions. At the end of the day, we are just 0.5 seconds off today’s fastest lap time. That’s not bad. It is also noticeable, that I always enjoy riding at this track, although I still have an unfinished bill with this Grand Prix from last year. But I do not want to prioritise that fact. Foremost, we just focus on our tasks and targets a starting position in the first four rows at least for Saturday’s qualifying. However, we mainly work with regard on our race pace so that we can once again score heavy points this Sunday or at least to finish towards the top ten. That is the clear objective for this weekend."
