With his MV Agusta project Dominique Aegerter is getting closer and closer to the established teams. Nevertheless, Saturday’s qualifying within the Styrian Alpes was a slight setback for him.

In fine weather conditions, the starting grid for the Austrian Grand Prix was determined by a thriller on Saturday afternoon. Dominique Aegerter went very determined into Q1 and was racing at the beginning at the top either. In the end he missed the jump into the second time attack by a ridiculous tenth of a second.

"Today’s qualifying was an incredibly close affair. We were able to improve the bike as well as our performance a bit. But the result is disappointing again. We're getting closer and closer and improving step by step. But the results hardly show this progress. On the other hand, the lap times prove this fact very clearly. That's hard for me to understand. But I'm not giving up, I firmly believe in this project. Tomorrow's race will be very tough one because of all these many laps to do. Furthermore, many riders have a similar pace within one second. The goal is the top-15. I'll give everything for that. We’ll continue to work hard tonight to understand where we can improve."
