2019/09/15 - Moto2™ WM 2019: GP di San Marino / Race Report

#SanMarinoGP: Slight progress unrewarded

Two scary moments at the beginning of the race robbed Dominique Aegerter of all hopes for a better result in Misano.

Although Dominique Aegerter had felt very comfortable throughout the weekend, he had to leave Italy without collecting any points finally. Sunday’s round 13th run of the season was almost gone for th 28-year-old from Rohrbach after just two laps.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (MV Agusta Temporary Forward, MV Agusta F2), P18:

"The race was disappointing. Of course, because I didn't score any points again. In the second lap I had two dangerous slides on the front wheel. This way why I lost my confidence in corner entry. Then it was difficult for me to push to the limit. After I had lost some positions because of these moments, I was able to catch up a bit again until the end. But in the end, it wasn't enough for the top 15. It's also disappointing that we lost more than 30 seconds to the race winner’s time today. That shows that we're only making progress with difficulty now."

"Too bad, because at the home race of MV Agusta I would have liked to have done better. Congratulations to my team mate Stefano (Manzi) who crossed the finish line two seconds ahead of me and scored another point. This weekend I actually felt very good. Unfortunately, I couldn't translate that into a better performance. The next two days I will have to work through this weekend and at the same time to relax a bit. As you know, on Wednesday I'm going straight to Aragón. Of course, the preparation for the next race must not be neglected."
