2020/10/27 - Moto2™ European Championship: CEV Valencia / Preview

#CEVValencia: Wildcard appearance at the final Moto2 EC round

Dominique Aegerter will be able to enjoy racing atmosphere and the smell of gasoline again this week at Valencia’s famous grand prix circuit.

For Dominique Aegerter, the 2020 racing season is not quite over yet after the experienced Swiss rider finished MotoE™ World Cup in third place overall. So, as a thank you for his outstanding performances during the season in the electric bike series, his German Intact GP team has enabled him to make a guest start at the last stop of the Moto2™ European Championship this week at Valencia. Aegerter will compete in the colours of the LIQUI MOLY Intact GP SIC Junior Team. The season’s finale of this junior series starts on Wednesday with free practice sessions and ends on Sunday with the second race of the weekend.

The races can be followed live via the series' YouTube channel.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (LIQUI MOLY Intact SIC Junior Team, KALEX):

"I am incredibly happy that I may ride for the Intact team at the season’s finale of the Moto2 European Championship. Therefore, I would like to thank Jürgen Lingg and Stefan Keckeisen who made this possible. After our MotoE season is already over, I am overjoyed to still have another race weekend. At the same time, I am also very much looking forward to returning on to a Moto2 machine. I simply love this class and these bikes. I would also have really missed it if I had not raced in Valencia this year. I know the track very well from my years in World Championship."

"Of course, I hope that I can achieve great results as a thank you to the team. I think they miss a little bit the top results in this championship. So, I will give everything to give them a nice end of the season. But most of all, I am happy about the fact that I will be able to ride a lot during the next few days, because the event starts on Wednesday and there is also a race on Saturday and Sunday each. Riding on a race bike is simply the best training. Furthermore, I am super happy that I can get a taste of racing atmosphere before the winter break starts. But before that, I would like to thank again the team managers for this opportunity."
