After a troublesome start to the weekend, Dominique Aegerter immediately re-joined the main protagonists of the electric bike racing series in the second free practice session.

For Dominique Aegerter, it was unusual problems this morning, after he had managed the changeover to the heavy MotoE™ race bike virtually in the blink of an eye previously always. At the Circuit de Catalunya located at the outskirts of Barcelona, hitherto unknown to the MotoE series, Aegerter only finished 13th in FP1. Along changes to the setup of the Energica bike, a turnaround came in the afternoon. The 30-year-old Swiss quickly found his feeling again and was able to ride 1.2 seconds faster in contrast to the first session. As a result, he improved to P6 in the combined timesheet.

"This morning I still had slight adjustment problems. In contrast to the previous races, it was much harder for me to get used to the MotoE bike again this time. On top of that, this is the first time we have been here with this bike. We therefore started with a set-up with that we were not quite sure if it would actually suite to this circuit or not. Unfortunately, we were a little off the mark. But the afternoon session got us back on track. With a gap of just under 0.5 seconds, we are back with the pack. Our efforts have paid off."

"Thanks to our good teamwork we managed to take an important step for the second practice, and I was able to concentrate exclusively on riding again. So, we have taken a good direction and I hope that we will make a similar step tomorrow. Before that, we will have a closer look at the data from today. It is a shame we do not have anything to compare it with. A teammate would help us a lot in this situation. For the time being, though, we are right on target, and I am surely not worried that we will not be in a position in the race to be right at the fierce end of the competition again."
