After a six-week summer break, Dominique Aegerter heads into the seventh race weekend of the FIM Supersport World Championship motivated to the tips of his fingers.  

31-year-old Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter comes to Magny-Cours in France in best shape and highly motivated. On the one hand, winning the MotoE™ World Cup title last weekend in Misano gives him a boost and on the other hand, the upcoming race weekend is a home race for the Yamaha rider. Due to the short distance to Switzerland, Aegerter can hope for the support of many Swiss fans who want to be there once a year and get a taste of the racing atmosphere.

Aegerter only got to know the challenging Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in Burgundy a year ago. In his debut race, he started from the front row in second place and celebrated a win and a second place.

The Superpole and of course both races will be broadcast live by Austrian broadcaster ServusTV.

"The summer break in Supersport World Championship was really very long. Fortunately, there were two races in MotoE. But this season is finished now, but with the very happy outcome that I was able to win the title last Saturday. I am so happy because this title means a lot to me. It took me three seasons to finally do it. Then another dream came true when I got to ride the MotoGP Suzuki at Misano. Every racer wishes for that, you do not get an opportunity like that every day. I had a lot of fun with this bike. Unfortunately, I was only allowed to ride it for 33 laps on Tuesday. Nevertheless, once again a huge thank you to all those involved who made this possible for me. But now the focus is fully on Supersport World Championship."

"Magny-Cours is a nice track where I was very successful last year on my debut there, winning on Saturday and a second place on Sunday. I like the layout; it is nice to ride. I am also looking forward to seeing the Ten Kate team again and continuing to work with them to achieve the goal we set ourselves for this season. But this weekend I have more work than usual waiting for me off track as well. We will be visited by many sponsors, supporters and fans who like to come to a race weekend because of the short journey. But I will not let that distract me, I will try everything to achieve our goal. We want to fight for the podium in both races and if possible, for victory so that we can extend our lead in the championship a little again. After the beautiful Misano week with the many unforgettable experiences, I feel in great shape and ready to ride my Yamaha R6 again."
