Dominique Aegerter would have liked to thank his numerous fans for their fantastic support with better results in Magny-Cours.

At the first World Championship meeting after the summer break at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, not far from the French border, 34-year-old Dominique Aegerter was greeted with waves of enthusiasm from his home fans on every lap. Despite all his efforts on the track, the crowd favourite was unable to finish higher than tenth place on Sunday, which left him feeling a little sad. 

The championship continues in three weeks with the third-to-last race of the season at the Spanish MotorLand Aragón circuit. Before that, however, Aegerter is organizing his annual track day event on September 15th at the Circuit Anneau du Rhin in Alsace, just a stone's throw from the border.

«After finishing eighth yesterday, we tried to improve the feeling for the bike. But it was not enough to finish higher than tenth place twice. Of course, I wanted to finish the short race in the morning in the top nine. Unfortunately, I just missed that goal and had to start from 13th position in the afternoon. That was not exactly helpful, of course. Nevertheless, I was not too far behind the group fighting for sixth place in the afternoon race. It was a tough one because of the heat, and I am not happy with the results either. On the other hand, the fans were incredible. They cheered me on like crazy, which gave me a lot of motivation to go faster on every lap. It was a really wonderful experience to see so many flags with the Swiss cross and the number 777 in the stands. As I have mentioned several times before, Magny-Cours feels like a real home race for me. Last but not least, I would like to thank the team for their great work. Everything worked perfectly. But the results do not meet my expectations. They need to improve. In the almost three-week break until Aragón, I have an event at Anneau du Rhin with my sponsors and fans. I am really looking forward to that, and then we will see each other again in Aragón. Hopefully we will be a little more competitive there.»
