2025/09/26 - FIM Superbike World Championship 2025: Aragon Round / Friday's Free Practice Sessions

A step closer to the leading group

Dominique Aegerter was not dissatisfied with Friday at the tenth meeting of the season at MotorLand Aragón, even though he would have liked to have been further ahead than 15th place at the end of the day.

It wasn't just the glorious late summer weather that put Dominique Aegerter in a good mood. The Yamaha rider and his crew were able to make improvements to the bike during the two free practice sessions of the day. Aegerter improved his lap time by 0.8 seconds in the afternoon and finished FP2 in 14th place, the same distance behind the fastest time.

FP1: P14 - 1´50.333 / FP2: P14 - 1´49.574

«Today has shown once again that Aragón is not the easiest track for us. Nevertheless, I believe that we got a bit closer to the guys at the front in FP2. The position is not great, but the gap of 0.8 seconds is reasonable. We were able to improve the bike a bit in some areas, which gives me more confidence. If we are able to continue to work in this direction, we should be a bit more competitive because Andrea (Locatelli) showed that today; he did a great job. So it should be possible to put in a similar performance to him. We will try a few more things tomorrow morning before we attempt to get into the top nine in Superpole. That would be the basis for a good race in the afternoon.»
