For Dominique Aegerter, the third-to-last race weekend of the season ended painfully due to a crash in the morning’s Superpole Race, which was not his fault, and an unsatisfactory 13th place in the afternoon.

Dominique Aegerter's performance on Saturday raised justified hopes for a good result in Sunday's races. But things turned out differently than the ambitious racer from the canton of Bern would have liked. The Superpole Race over a short distance of ten laps was practically gone for him just a few corners after the start when he was sent into the gravel by an obviously over-motivated competitor. Aegerter nevertheless re-joined to finish the race after the crash.

A few hours later, in the second main race of the weekend, the Yamaha rider competed again despite pain throughout his body. After a good start, however, he remained stuck in a large group until the finish line.

«I had a lot of bad luck in Superpole Race when another rider caused me to crash. Fortunately, I did not get injured, even though my body hurts from the top to the bottom. At this point, I would like to express my sincere thanks to my guys in the garage because they got the bike ready to race again for the second main race. Due to the crash, I had to start from P14 in the fifth row again in the afternoon. My bike was working perfectly, and I felt very comfortable with, and the first few laps did not go badly either. I also had the feeling that I could improve and move up towards the top ten. I had the pace to do so. But we have problems overtaking our opponents. These difficulties have a very negative effect in a race where you want to make up positions. Against this background, 13th place is obviously not a success. We still have two race weekends ahead of us this year. Until the next one, I will give my body some rest and, in the meantime, I will also be a year older. In Estoril in two weeks and in Jerez, I will try to finish this season in top form and leave a calling card for next year. The search is not easy.»
