Dominique Aegerter will not be racing in the penultimate round of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship at the Circuito do Estoril in Portugal this weekend after sustaining a hand injury in a training accident earlier this week.

35-year-old Dominique Aegerter had hoped to bid farewell to his GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK team with some strong performances. Unfortunately, an injury has thwarted his plans. Aegerter has broken the fifth metacarpal bone in his right hand and will undergo surgery tomorrow, Thursday, at the Hirslanden Salem Hospital in Bern.
