2026/01/21 - FIM Supersport World Championship 2026: Kawasaki WorldSSP Team presentation

Dominique Aegerter officially presented as Kawasaki WorldSSP Team rider

The team’s presentation took place immediately before the first test of the new year in Spain’s popular city Jerez de la Frontera.

The third week of the year means full throttle ahead for Dominique Aegerter. After a day in a wind tunnel in Geneva, the 35-year-old from Bern headed to southern Spain on Tuesday, where a two-day test is planned for Wednesday and Thursday at the Circuito de Jerez.

However, Tuesday wasn't just travelling day because Manuel Puccetti's team, which is responsible for Kawasaki's factory presence in the Superbike and Supersport World Championships, organized a team presentation. Dominique Aegerter was officially presented as a rider for the FIM Supersport World Championship 2026. His teammate is Jeremy Alcoba from Spain, who already achieved impressive results last year with the brand-new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636. In WSBK, Texan Garrett Gerloff rides the only green Kawasaki in the field.

After Jerez, the team will travel on to Portimao next week, where another test is planned for Wednesday and Thursday. After that, all the equipment will be prepared for the transport to the Championship’s opening round at the end of February at picturesque Phillip Island in southern Australia.

#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636)

«I am very excited to be competing in Supersport World Championship with the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team this season. The team’s colours are beautiful. After an initial test last November, which was a shakedown for me and a chance to get to know my new environment, we are finally back in action after the winter break. We still have six days on-track to fine-tune our package before the start of the season. However, I am also looking forward to heading to Phillip Island for the first race weekend in a month. So far, we are well positioned. My primary goal is to regain some confidence after two somewhat difficult years. But I am highly motivated and in top form to give 100 percent in every session, and even a little more. I have a great team behind me that wants to take our bike to the top. That is our goal: to make continuous progress and fight for the best possible results.»
