After two days of encouraging Progress at the Portugal rollercoaster, Dominique Aegerter had to settle for 18th place on Sunday, leaving him empty-handed.
Round two of the still-young 2026 championship ended in disappointment for Dominique Aegerter. In Sunday’s race, the 35-year-old Swiss rider was never in a position to launch an attack. He lost two positions right at the start and another one on the opening lap.
From then on, Aegerter was able to maintain his pace, but never had what it took to overtake the riders ahead of him. The Kawasaki rider and his team still have a lot of work to do before the next race in three weeks at Assen.
#77 Dominique AEGERTER (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636)
Startplatz 16 / Rennen 2: P18
«Today’s race was a disappointing one for me. And in the end, we missed out on the points, which is even more painful for me. After a few laps where I felt good, rear grip dropped off a bit. Still, I was able to maintain my pace to a certain extent. We definitely need to analyze where we can make improvements quickly and where our strengths are. We’ll take a close look at this weekend’s data so that, hopefully, we’ll be more competitive with our Kawasaki project in three weeks. A big thank you to everyone for their support. I won’t give up until we’ve achieved our goal.»
