Following a penalty and a 18th-place finish, Dominique Aegerter has a long Saturday of work ahead of him to ensure the Kawasaki rider finds more enjoyment in Sunday's second race at Most.

The «Ice Saints» have a firm grip on the north-west of the Czech Republic this week. Despite slightly improved conditions with blue skies, but still very cold temperatures, Dominique Aegerter and his team weren't able to find improvements during this morning's warm-up.

For the race, the 35-year-old racer from the canton of Bern had to swallow another bitter pill, as he was dropped two rows down the order on the starting grid for an offence during free practice session on Friday morning. Starting from row nine, Aegerter found it difficult to make up ground, especially in the early stages. Over the 19 laps, he only managed to work his way up to 18th place.

The second race of the weekend at the Autodrom Most will start on Sunday at 14:00 CEST, which Aegerter will tackle from his original grid position.

«We tried something out this morning when the temperatures were very cold. We didn't find the right direction, so we went back to a setting we're familiar with. Starting so far back on the grid didn't help either. Because of that, I had a lot of battles in the opening laps. It was only once I could run my own pace that wasn't so bad, and I managed to overtake a few rivals towards the end. But finishing outside the points is disappointing. We're working hard to improve and get a better feeling for the bike so we can achieve better results. So, it looks like a long afternoon and evening ahead, sitting down with my crew to find solutions before tomorrow's warm-up. I hope Race 2 will be better and we'll pick up a few points.
