The 35-year-old Kawasaki rider could hardly hide his disappointment after finishing in 12th place in Race 1 in Donington.

On the second day of this year’s round eight in Supersport World Championship, morning fog over England's Donington Park Circuit in the East Midlands brought a refreshing coolness until the sun reclaimed the sky. During the day, it wasn't as hot as it had been on previous days.

Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter and his team from the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team were unable to make any further progress on Saturday, after Friday had provided such a promising start to the weekend.

Aegerter started the race from 13th place on the fifth row and initially gained one position but lost it again three laps later. Until the end, Aegerter was caught up in a four-way battle for tenth place and ultimately crossed the finish line in twelfth place.

«I have to say that I had hoped for a bit more from Race 1. I’m disappointed with P12, because I was confident, I could fight for a spot in the top ten and be faster. We need to sit down and figure out where we can improve, and hopefully we’ll find something. We got off to a pretty good start to the weekend on Friday, but we weren’t able to make any further progress. That’s why I’m really hoping for some small improvements by tomorrow, and I’ll also try to better adapt my riding to the demands of this track and the bike. The team is working hard to give me a bike that will let me ride faster. We’ll be starting from 14th place tomorrow, but I’ll give it my all to finish in the top ten and bring home some good points. Of course, congratulations to Jeremy on his podium finish today. He rode a great race, and that’s good for our Kawasaki WorldSSP Team as well as for the entire project.»
