The 33-year-old Swiss rider's recovery from shoulder and rib injury is not yet sufficiently advanced for him to make his comeback at MotorLand Aragón this weekend.
Dominique Aegerter must continue to exercise patience after his training accident with a mountain bike one month ago. His main concern is that the mobility of his right arm is still too limited. The rider from the canton of Bern is now aiming to get back aboard his Yamaha Superbike at the next championship round in Estoril (Portugal) in two weeks' time.
#77 Dominique AEGERTER (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, Yamaha YZF R1)
«It is difficult for me to continue to sit at home and watch WorldSBK only on TV. Unfortunately, I am not fit for Aragóny yet, which I feel very sorry for my team, Yamaha, all the sponsors and fans. I would like to be back, but my physical condition is not healthy enough yet. I am making progress every day with my shoulder and rib injuries, but it still takes time. I spoke to my doctors on Tuesday and I knew beforehand that it was still too early to get back on my Yamaha Superbike but I still cannot move my arm enough and I cannot put enough weight on it. My focus is therefore on Estoril so that I can be fit again in two weeks. I will do everything I can to be able to ride there again. I miss the Superbike paddock, my GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team and of course my Yamaha Superbike. But I have to stay patient, do my physiotherapy and listen to what the doctors say. I will not give up so quickly, but the health is the most important thing. I willl be all the happier when I can get back on my Yamaha Superbike. Finally, I wish my team and of course Yamaha all the best for Aragón so that they can make progress again.»
