2024/10/17 - FIM Superbike World Championship 2025: Contract renewal with Yamaha

2025 WorldSBK season sealed with Yamaha

Dominique Aegerter is pleased to announce his contract extension with Yamaha for the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship.

The 34-year-old Dominique Aegerter will contest his third season in WorldSBK with the Italian GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team in 2025. An agreement to this effect was signed recently just ahead of this weekend’s season finale at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain. After a six-week injury break, the ambitious rider from the canton of Bern recently returned to racing action in Estoril.

«I am over the moon that my future is secured, because the contract with Yamaha for another season in 2025 has been signed now. This secures my future in Superbike World Championship, which has always been my goal. I am very happy about this and also very grateful. After a very difficult season that started with a viral infection from which I recovered very slowly and an injury that caused me to miss four race weekends, this is not something I can take for granted. In addition, we did not achieve our common goals. Therefore, I would like to thank everyone involved, especially Yamaha Europe and IXS Switzerland, who have been incredibly supportive of this project. My plan now is to become a strong rider again and to consistently finish in the top six. I am highly motivated to achieve this and get back to 100 percent fitness as quickly as possible. I am looking forward to another year with GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, where I feel very comfortable and in good hands.»
