Dominique Aegerter stormed to fifth place in the first free practice session. Although he improved his lap time in the afternoon, he dropped down a few positions and finished day one of round three of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship 2025 in twelfth place. 

The third meeting of the World Championship with production-based raceg bikes kicked off on Friday in fine weather. The venue is the legendary TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands, where Dominique Aegerter has always felt very much at home. He left no doubt about that by finishing fifth in the first practice session of the weekend.

In equally good conditions in FP2 this afternoon, Aegerter was able to improve his time from this morning by just under 0.4 tenths of a second but narrowly missed out on a place in the top ten. However, the Yamaha rider did not let this put him off. Thanks to the good feeling with his superbike, he is looking forward to Saturday with confidence.

The first race of the weekend will be shown live on free-to-air television on «ServusTV».

«We had a good start to the weekend this morning, we were fast straight away. The bike felt good. The team's homework was noticeable, especially that of my data engineer Massimo, who found a good setting for the electronics. In the afternoon we had to test different tyre compounds, but I could not find a good feeling with one type. The most important thing was that we were still able to improve our lap time, even though the competition also improved. But we are not far from the top and the feeling with the bike is promising. Tomorrow it will be important to put in a few good laps during FP3 so that we are well prepared for Superpole and can deliver a strong performance there. The weather should remain stable and fine. So, we will give everything for a good race tomorrow afternoon.»
